Building the Deadliest Dungeon Ever

This week I have been working with the AdventureQuest Worlds team on the 1st Grimskull Dungeon, "THE VAULT OF ENDLESS DOOM." The dungeon is in two parts... the first being a lower level, pretty simple (but still death trap filled) dungeon crawl. The second half is for high level players who have a death wish. While we are all extremely excited to be working on this... every single room of the dungeon needs a lot of custom code. This is scheduled for release on Friday. Should we be worried that it is the end of Wednesday and we only have 6 of 42 rooms coded? Youmi and Dumoose are coding their fingers off while J6, Ghost and Dage rush to finish all of the art for the monsters and traps. Most of our cutscenes feature you doing ultra cool heroic stuff. But for Grimskull dungeons, all of the cutscenes feature the hero dying is hallarious ways. Additionally, we did voice acting for Grimskull and his insane shadow moglin assistant, Mort. We have two songs lined up -- if Ghost has time he will record a special bonus one. I cannot tell you who the voice of Grimskull is... but I can tell you I have had more Chloraseptic than water these past two days and my voice is shot. *coughs* Ouch! *coughs* Ouch!
 
You can keep up to date on my progress by reading AQWorld's Design Notes. In the event that we are not able to finish programming all of the rooms.... we are planning to release some new quests in the town of Battleon, then release both parts of Grimkull's "VAULT OF ENDLESS DOOM" next week.
